Kuwait’s International Law Society

دال Talks is a moderated conference aimed at motivating and inspiring. دال is an Arabic word meaning change, where the word in itself highlights the goal of the event. With diverse and innovative speakers, the conference focuses on changing views of its audience. This event is the second of its kind, with the first دال Talks being hosted back in February earlier this year. The speakers which graced us with their moving words that February evening included, but were not limited to, Dr. Saad Al Barrak, former CEO of Zain; Ghanim Al Muftah, the Qatari child wonder diagnosed with Caudal Regression Syndrome at birth; and Faisal Al Nashmi, Kuwaiti Chef and founder of Al Makan.

We have a wide variety of speakers for our December event, sharing their own experiences and life achievements. Among them are Abdulwahab Al Essa, entrepreneur and a leading program presenter in the Kuwaiti television industry; Engineer Khaled Al Mashaan, founder and CEO of Alargan International Real Estate Company; Fahad Al Rahmani & Othman Al Anjeri, the creators and hosts of the program اصحاب السلطة; and Faisal Al Khudr, founder of the electronic magazine ‘Kuwait Magazine’.

How we started?

In 2012, thirteen students in Kuwait University-College of Law established Kuwait International Law Society with the guidance and support of their professor Dr. Ebrahim Alsahli. The society was established under the International Law Student Association (ILSA), which is an association that promotes knowledge and understanding in international law. All thirteen students are diverse in aspects of background, mentality, traditions, and dreams; However, their interest in the field of International Law was what brought them together. At the beginning, things were rough as it was the ABCs of establishing a foundation, but the members shifted their focus on activities and projects related to the main events that were vital in the International Community, especially closely related to the crises of the Arab Region.
